A company-wide date, unlike driver files
Unlike MVR pulls or Clearinghouse queries, UCR is one deadline for the carrier on the calendar year. Registration for the coming year is due by December 31 of the current one.
Not the same as MCS-150
MCS-150 is your FMCSA census update on a biennial schedule tied to your USDOT digits. UCR is a separate fee registration under the Unified Carrier Registration plan.

When is UCR registration due?
On the calendar-year cycle. Registration for the coming year is due by December 31 of the current year. If you already renewed this year, the next deadline is December 31 of the following year.
Who has to register for UCR?
Motor carriers, brokers, freight forwarders and leasing companies operating in interstate commerce above the fee threshold set for that year. Intrastate-only carriers may be exempt depending on state rules.
Is UCR the same as MCS-150?
No. MCS-150 is your carrier census update with FMCSA on a biennial USDOT schedule. UCR is a separate fee registration collected through the Unified Carrier Registration plan.
